| 内容記述 | 本論文は京都本草学の代表者である稲生若水・松岡恕庵・小野蘭山などを中心に、それらの『詩経』に対する「名物学」的研究の内容と発展経緯を解明しようとするものである。近世期本草学者の学問における関心は、主として三つの領域に集中している。すなわち、伝統医学の傍流となる「薬学」と、動植鉱物の名実同定を重視する「名物学」、さらに天産物の有用性に目をつけ、その産業化によって実利を得ることを目的とする「物産学」である。そのなかに、近世期における「名物学」の発展は、『詩経』をめぐる注釈と考証を中心に展開されてきた。それに関する学問は、「『詩経』名物学」と呼ばれている。その根底をなすのは、朱子学における「正名論」や「格物致知」の思想と考えられる。しかし、もともと『詩経』に出てきた動植物に対する名実同定にとどまっていた『詩経』名物学研究は、近世中後期になると、その記述に生態や製法などといった内容が見られ、「物産学」的な色合いがついてきたのである。本論文では、各時期における京都本草学派の『詩経』名物学著作を取り上げ、それらの記述内容を分析しつつ、『詩経』名物学の発展の実態について具体的に検討していこうとする。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper investigates the development of the Etymological Study about The Classic of Poetry through scholars like Inoue Jakusui, Matsuoka Shoan, and Ono Ranzan from the Kyoto Herbalism School. Early modern Herbalism scholars focused on three key areas: Pharmacology, which was linked to traditional medicine; Etymological Study, emphasizing the accurate identification of animals, plants, and minerals; and Product science, which aimed to apply natural products for practical profit. The Etymological Study, particularly regarding the The Classic of Poetry, was influenced by Neo-Confucian concepts such as the “rectification of names” and “investigation of things.” Initially, the research focused on identifying the flora and fauna mentioned in The Classic of Poetry, but by the mid-Edo period, it expanded to include ecological and production-related aspects, merging with Product science. This paper analyzes writings from different periods of the Kyoto Herbalism School, focusing on how the Etymological Study about The Classic of Poetry evolved and incorporated more practical elements over time, reflecting broader intellectual trends. | |||||||||
