| 内容記述 | 本稿は国文学研究資料館特別コレクション山鹿文庫蔵『中朝事実』中国章の前半部分に注釈を施したものである。山鹿素行（一六二二～八五）の『中朝事実』（寛文九〔一六六九〕年序）は、これまで近世における日本主義を体現した史料として評価されてきたが、その本格的な検討については書き下し等の紹介にとどまっていた。かかる現状の中、本注釈では国文学研究資料館蔵の伝自筆本を底本として、津軽版との比較に努めながら、本文・頭注・割り注の出典を明らかにした。注釈を施した結果、伝自筆本の修正跡や素行が書き入れた頭注が津軽版にて全て抹消されているほか、キリストを示す「耶蘇」を「南人」と置き換える等、出版にあたって配慮がなされている点が判明した。また、素行が引用した文献の中で『孟子』・『文選』・『易経』のほか、『太子瑞応本起経』の仏典も取り入れていることが明らかになった。『中朝事実』は日本を「中華」と称して中国への優位を明示した書として知られるが、中国・儒教自体を否定したのではなく、数々の儒学文献を用いつつ、日本型華夷思想を唱えた点を忘れてはならない。素行がいかなる典拠を用いてかかる主張に至ったのか、今後も冷静な分析が必要だろう。 | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper is an annotation of the first half of ‘Chucho Jijitsu’ Chinese chapter in Yamaga Collection of National Institute of Japanese Literature. Yamaga Soko’s (1622－85) ‘Chucho Jijitsu’ has been regarded as a history book embodying early modern Japanism, however, its full-scale examination has been limited to the introduction of transcriptions. This paper uses a manuscript in Yamaga collection as the source material, and clarifies the sources of the text, headnotes, and interlinear notes by comparing them with the published version. The annotations revealed that all traces of manuscript corrections and headnotes were erased in the published version, and that some considerations were made in the publication process, such as replacing “Yaso” for Christianity with “southern barbarian”. It was also revealed that Soko quoted from the Mencius, the I Ching, as well as the Buddhist scriptures of ‘Taishi Zuio Hon Ki Sutra’. ‘Chucho Jijitsu’ is known as a book that clearly called Japan “China” and declared its superiority over China. However, it did not deny China or Confucianism itself, but advocated Japanism while using Confucian references. It will be necessary to continue a calm analysis of what sources Soko used to arrive at his Japanism. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
