@inproceedings{oai:kokubunken.repo.nii.ac.jp:00002064, author = {Pigeot, Jacqueline and PIGEOT, Jacqueline}, book = {国際日本文学研究集会会議録, PROCEEDINGS OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON JAPANESE LITERATURE}, issue = {6}, month = {Mar}, note = {pdf, Many michiyuki passages, regardless on the genres in which they occur, draw upon traditional and classical tales (koji) which concern visits to famous places in the course of a journey. The speaker discusses the following points which have arisen out of her examination of about twenty michiyuki passages in otogizōshi. (1) The number and percentage of michiyuki passages which allude to koji. Roughly half of all michiyuki passages studied contain allusions to koji. Moreover, these tend to be the longer of the passages. (2) Is the occurrence of koji related to particular types or categories of otogizoshi? There appears to be a particularly high rate of occurrence in so-called kuge shōsetsu. (3) How many koji are alluded in a passage, and how long are the allusions? How are they introduced into the michiyuki passage? In the case of koji which tend to be written in especially lyrical prose, how are these woven into the pōetic fabric of the michiyuki passage? (4) The content ―scenes from tales of pōets (kajin densetsu) Buddhist sermons, and monogatari, historical incidents, etc.― and literary origins of koji. The koji which feature in michiyuki passages represent a very limited selection, the overwhelming majority being based on literary works and historical, figures from the Heian period. (5) The significance and function of koji in michiyuki passages. It must not be forgotten that meanings differ from example to example, depending on the nature and number of koji references in each passage and the way these are woven into the whole. As a case study, I take the story Asagao no tsuyu no miya, which contains a striking number of koji allusions. In conclusion, I compare michiyuki passages in literary genres other than otogizōshi, and try to ascertain whether or not those which appear in otogizoshi have any special characteristics.}, pages = {191--202}, publisher = {国文学研究資料館}, title = {招待発表(2) 道行文に見る故事について ―お伽草子を中心として―}, year = {1983}, yomi = {ピジョー, ジャックリーン} }
