According to the Nihon Kindaibungaku Daijiten, vol. 4 , the earliest translation of Turgenev into Japanese was Futabatei's Fathers and Sons but that translation was abandonned and never saw the light of day. As a result, it is generally accepted that the earliest Turgenev translation into Japanese was Futabatei's translation Aibiki, published in the Kokumin no Torno in 1888. However, volume six of Yanagida Izumi's Meijibungaku Kenkyu lists the appearance in 1883 of \"a translation of a prose poem by Turgenev, of uncertain provenance .\" The reference is evidently to the publication on December 28, 1883 , in the Chōya Shimbun, of a prose poem of Turgenev entitled, in Japanese ,\"Turgenev's Dialogue\" (Tsurugenefu no Taiwa). In fact this is a translation of a work by Turgenev entitled \"The Threshold\" (Пopoг). It is a complete and relatively faithful translation, and it is characteristic that, in the context of the Japanese movement for free civil rights, when Turgenev's name was associated with the Russian Nihilist Party, a work such as this, among Turgenev's most radical texts , should have been translated. Among translations of \"The Threshold\" there appeared a French rendition published on Ocotber 21, 1883, in the paper \"La Justice.\" This, however, was a translation by the Russian woman writer and socialist B. N. Nikichina, and not a translation by a native French speaker. In this sense, the Japanese translation appearing two months later may be regarded as earliest translation of \"The Threshold\" outside of Russia. The Japanese translation appears to be a retranslation of the French translation.\nVolume 10 of the Soviet Academy of Sciences edition of Turgenev's complete works (Moscow 1982) includes detailed notes on translations of \"The Threshold,\" but fails to mention this Japanese translation, and should be supplemented accordingly.\n2 . Opinions of Soviet scholars on the role Turgenev has played in modern Japanese literature are divided. There are those who attribute the enthusiastic reception of Turgenev's work by Meiji readers to the proximity of his esthetic to the notion of mononoaware in the Japanese classical literary tradition. However, one typical feature of the reception of foreign literatures is the motive of absorbing what is alien to the native tradition and thereby enriching the latter. This feature seems to apply as well to the Japanese reception of Turgenev.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10003_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.24619/00002079","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10003_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国文学研究資料館"}]},"item_10003_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0387-7280","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Rexo, Kim"},{"creatorName":"キム, レボ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"24697","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KIM, Rexo","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"24698","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-09-10"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"I0805.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"7.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"研究発表 日本におけるツルゲネフ受容に関する一考察","url":"https://kokubunken.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2083/files/I0805.pdf"},"version_id":"f4684e2b-5eba-47fa-87f2-64fe3de81a1e"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"conference paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_5794"}]},"item_title":"研究発表 日本におけるツルゲネフ受容に関する一考察","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"研究発表 日本におけるツルゲネフ受容に関する一考察"},{"subitem_title":"On the Reception of Turgenev in Japan","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10003","owner":"3","path":["229"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-08-05"},"publish_date":"2016-08-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"2083","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["研究発表 日本におけるツルゲネフ受容に関する一考察"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-10-11T01:31:15.701038+00:00"}
