In my opinion that difficulty originates with the female character of the narrative style. The female character of the narrative voice is apparent in many facets of the text. In this presentation, taking one passage of the \"Wakamurasaki\"chapter as a focus, I will do a comparative analysis of how the four main translations into modem Japanese, (Yosano Akiko, Tanizaki Jun'ichiro, Enchi Fumiko and Setouchi Jakucho) have dealt with this problem.
