It portrays a native woman in Taiwan, Ryū Jimi and her son Kajii Jirō. In the novel, Jimi, who starts working for the Kaiji clinic in the southern part of Taiwan when she is seventeen-years old, gets pregnant by the doctor Kaiji Eikichi. Because of this, she is sent back home and is taken her newborn baby boy away. After becoming a kindergarten teacher, unlettered and illiterate, Jimi obtains a license for nursing at the obstetrics and gynecology dept. of the Taihoku clinic and makes a living as a midwife while thinking of her child.\nMeanwhile, Jimi’s child Kajii Jirō comes to discover that his real mother is a native Taiwanese but he cannot accept it emotionally. However, when he fails the entrance examination for the naval academy, he realizes that he has had worldly thoughts such as social success, calculation and utility. He is accepted as a kō-shu hikō yoka renshūsei (A grade-A trainee for the navy) and after completing his training, he visits Jimi. It was not until that moment that he calls her ‘mother’. In the end of the story, Jimi receives the news that Jirō is killed in the war, off the coast of Malaya after the Pacific War breaks out. She is determined that she will live proudly and vigorously as ‘the mother of a fierce eagle at the sea’ and ‘an eternal mother’.\nBefore the serialized novel started, in the August issue of the ‘Junkan-Taishin’ the author Shōji Sōichi spoke of his aspirations for the story as follows: ‘One hundred million Japanese people are determined to destroy the enemy with fighting spirit at this occasion when Japan encounters a national crisis. It is necessary, however, that the whole Asian people must stand together if we want to gain a victory. So to speak, a unity of blood is required. Here we can see his view on the war.\nIn this presentation, I will examine the Taiwan in 1941 where the native Ryū Jimi is portrayed as ‘an eternal mother’ although she is far from an image of militaristic mother, while paying attention to the descriptions of clinics, midwives and blood transfusions frequently described in the novel. The aim of this presentation is to try to give a new interpretation of the novel.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10003_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.24619/00002918","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10003_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国文学研究資料館"}]},"item_10003_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0387-7280","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"廖, 秀娟"},{"creatorName":"リョウ, シュウケン","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"25485","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"LIAO, Hsiu-Chuan","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"25486","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-09-10"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"I3504.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"8.2 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"研究発表 庄司総一「月來香」論 ―病院、産婆、<1941>の台湾―","url":"https://kokubunken.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2922/files/I3504.pdf"},"version_id":"c37158e4-a125-4fdc-9f3b-ef5ce5fbd15d"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"conference paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_5794"}]},"item_title":"研究発表 庄司総一「月來香」論 ―病院、産婆、<1941>の台湾―","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"研究発表 庄司総一「月來香」論 ―病院、産婆、<1941>の台湾―"},{"subitem_title":"A Study on Shōji Sōichi's ‘Getsuraikō’: \\nClinics, Midwives and Taiwan in 1941","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10003","owner":"3","path":["272"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-11-18"},"publish_date":"2016-11-18","publish_status":"0","recid":"2922","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["研究発表 庄司総一「月來香」論 ―病院、産婆、<1941>の台湾―"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T15:25:41.457572+00:00"}
