@article{oai:kokubunken.repo.nii.ac.jp:00003261, author = {桜井, 宏徳 and SAKURAI, Hironori}, issue = {43}, journal = {国文学研究資料館紀要, The Bulletin of The National Institure of Japanese Literature}, month = {Mar}, note = {pdf, 大石千引『栄花物語考難註』は、安藤為章『栄花物語考』に逐条ごとに批判を加えつつ、千引自身の所説をも述べたものである。 従来、『栄花物語考難註』は、『栄花物語考』の赤染衛門非作者説・全巻同一作者説を否定して、中世以来の赤染衛門作者説を再び肯定し、正編三十巻と続編十巻とは作者及び成立時期を異にしていることを説くなど、作者論・構成論において今日の通説の水準にほぼ達している点がもっぱら評価されてきた。しかし、千引の関心は、作者論・構成論よりもむしろ、物語とはいかなるものかを文章のありようを通じて考えることに向けられている。千引は、現存しないものの『栄花物語』の初の全注釈であったと目される『栄花物語抄』の著者でもあり、『栄花物語考難註』は千引の『栄花物語』観、ひいては歴史物語観・物語観を知る上でも貴重である。 本稿は、現在知られる『栄花物語考難註』の唯一の伝本であるノートルダム清心女子大学附属図書館特殊文庫(黒川文庫)蔵本の翻刻に解題を付して紹介し、近世『栄花物語』研究史及び大石千引の研究に資せんとするものである。 The Eiga monogatari kō’nanchū (Commentary on difficult passages in a tale of flowering fortunes) by Ōishi Chibiki (1770-1834), while offering a section by section criticism of Eiga monogatari kō (Commentary on a tale of flowering fortunes) by Andō Tameakira (1659-1716), also includes Ōishi’s own personal interpretations of passages in A Tale of Flowering Fortunes. Scholars both past and present have spent a great deal of energy praising Ōishi’s work: a number of his insights are hailed as having very early on attained the same sort of rigorous certainty expected in modern scholarship. For example, whereas Andō argued that the author of A Tale of Flowering Fortunes was not, as was then supposed, the work of Akazome Emon, but that the entire book had nevertheless been written by a single author, Ōishi refuted both of these claims, arguing that the author (at least in part) was indeed Akazome, but that the work was the result of two different writers working in different ages. Whatever the case may be, Ōishi was not primarily interested in problems of authorship or structure. Rather, he was interested in getting at the essence of narrative fiction (monogatari), of discovering what made the genre unique, by looking closely at the inner working of its text. Ōishi was the author of a full-length commentary-likely the first-on A Tale of Flowering Fortunes, entitled Eiga monogatari shō (Gleanings from a tale of flowering fortunes). Unfortunately, this work is now lost. It is his Commentary on Difficult Passages, therefore, that we must look to find the man’s interpretation of the tale, along with his ideas on historical writing and narrative fiction in general.
