すなわち，この期間において，文学を担う作家および読者を構成する集団は，戦前に教育を受け戦争体験をもつ「戦前基盤」と，戦後の教育を受け戦争のない社会に育った「戦後基盤」との二つの基盤から成り，前者はさらに戦前の知識層と中間層の二重構造を受けついで全体として三成分構造になっている。そして各基盤で言語改革やメディアの発展の受け入れ方も異り，それらの影響は各基盤の消長によって変化した。「戦前基盤」は戦後その二重構造のギャップが狭められ，融合拡大した基盤となるが，1970年頃から失われ，文学の基盤は，それとは異質の戦後基盤に移ってゆくことを明らかにし，この基盤の変化と，戦後文学史との関係も考察する。

 A change of social “Place” which affects the literature in the latter part of the 20th century was discussed following “On the Indicator for the Change of Background of Japanese Literature in Meiji Era”(Departmental Bulletin Paper of National Institute of Japanese Literature No.6, in 1980) and “On an Indicator for the Change of Background of Japanese Literature in the Former Half of 20th Century” (same as above No.8, in 1982) 

 In other words, in this period, writers plays the role in literature and a group which constitutes readers consist of two bases of “Base before war” which received education before war and went through the war and “Base after war” which received education after war and brought up the society without war. The former inherits the dual structure of the prewar intellectuals and middle class and composed of three components as a whole. How to accept of language reform and development of the media were different in each base, and those influence changed by the ups and downs of each base. ”Before war base” became fusion, the enlarged base, because a gap of the dual structure is narrowed after the war. However it was lost from about 1970, it was revealed that the base of the literature shifts to different kinds of after war base. The change of this base and the relations with the history of literature after the war were also considered.},
