Since the news of events of a town and the village was extremely interesting, serialization of popular ones for the subscriber was begun. Then the serialization of the true story (the series) which was edited a general news articles (same as a case of the modern weekly magazine) became popular, after that, “a series of style of novel” (creation) in about 1887 appeared. This is a “newspaper novel”. 1：This was guided by the theory of the novel of Tsubouchi Shoyo. 2: At that time, since the professional writers (creator) appeared, this times when a newspaper reporter was in charge of both general news articles and the series (true stories) are gone. 3: However, the form of the space of the serial story in a newspaper (illustrated serial stories, it is the same as today) was decided in the times of the serial true stories, a new novel will be published serially in this old form.
