 Regarding an experimental open Japanese book basics database (for literary works) on a homepage of National Institute of Japanese Literature, the efficacy and issues to use classification for subject searching were considered. The list which layered a classification item in reference to “Cabinet Library Japanese book classification list” was made and analyzed the definition of the term, the difference in classification point of view based on concrete examples. From the provider side of DB, future tasks were mentioned. It is intended to assume examination materials for the utilizing method development.},
