According to him, in these serials there were lacks of elements of literary art, and they should be called serial reports, but there could be seen a little element of novels in them. Above-mentioned analyses were brought up from the results of a viewpoint that serials have been developed gradually. By close analyses of these serials again, the facts can be found as follows:\n\n1. One of these serials was to tie up with the plays performed at the same time.\n2. These serials were created in the placed far from the subscribers.\n3. The reports of some collections were described comically.\n\nBesides these analyses, according to spaces of newspaper, the omission or prolong of the contents can be seen. In those days, it seemed that Robun Kanagaki who ran the newspaper publishing company tried to use serials to fill with all the spaces of news papers, in spite of considering them as special plans. The characteristic elements of stories were only acquired as the results of above-mentioned handlings, and never be intended.\nThe actual condition of serials in those days was that the serials of newspapers were established by the division of a complete novel into two or three pieces, owing to circumstances.
