Shanghai Library is considered one of the top ten public libraries in the world, which houses a great number of valuable classical writings and special collections. This paper is attempting to the brief introduction of collection and collation, conservation and research of ancient Chinese Books in the Shanghai Library. As a librarian of Shanghai Library and visiting professor at National Institute of Japanese Literature, the author reveals the related literature on ancient books and records’ dissemination and circulation between China and Japan.},
