| 内容記述 | In these days, a study of literature is in a state of an extreme diversification. At the same time, it is in a state of confusion more than it was. The fundamental cause of this confusion seems to be in the vagueness of the concepts on the two basic key words of the study －“ Literature ”and “Work”. “Work” is something having been made. It should be regarded as an object which independently exists from an author or a reader. It cannot be easily influenced by any change in a society nor by any character of a reader. Then, it is necessary to place “Work” in the dimension of a linguistic symbol' s formal side -- a signifier. On the other hand，“ Literature“ should be regarded as one which al ways contains a mental content and value. It must be subjectively created by each reader through an interaction with the work. As a result of these two concepts, I, hereby, propose to clarify the definition of “Work” and “literature” as follows: a chain of a signifier and a subjective recognition of a reader respectively. If we establish these new concepts, it will become possible to have a common basis among the diversified studies of literature. |
