内容記述 | The meaning of the term Fudo in Japanese is broader than that of the original Chinese word, which meant simply natural environment. Fudo refers not only to the natural environment but also to historical and cultural factors. As a result of the perticular Fudo or of certain places in Japan, Japanese literature developed certain characteristics which are unique in comparison with the literature of other countries. A breef explanation was given of the background to the establishment of the Nihon-bungaku-Fudo-gakkai (or Society for the study of the influence of fudo on Japanese literature), and of the Society's fundamental approach. To exemplify his general theme, the speaker described the relationship between the fudo of Kyoto and literature related to Kyoto. It is important for the comprehension of a literature to set the object of study in it's particular time-space situation, taking account of both natural environment and cultural factors. |
