内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 At Fujiwara no Michinaga's time, during about twenty years at the beginning of XIth century, Chinese poetry composition sessions were often held at Michinaga's house or at the court. Chinese versification specialists, members of the way of Arts had to be bulliant at these sessions. But Michinaga himself first of all and several high dignitaries including the Emperor also attended those sessions. Nevertheless, there were not so many officials or high dignitaries talented in this manner of compositon. For high dignitaries, those sessions were additional distinctions and, for officials, an obligation if they wanted to attain a higher position in their careers. But the status of those sessions was not the same compared to Shinto celebrations or certain rules of procedure as nominations and promotions in the court life ruled by annual celebrations cycle. This means that composition sessions were not absolutely necessary but were means to show the country's high level of civilization. The nature of themes given at those sessions were rarely of a political nature and composers never tried to be critical, preferring lamentation about their own lot or praise of highly placed persons. As was said by Sanjonish-Sanetaka, one of the XVth century authors, the role of poetry composition was to obtain an elegant entertainment and to horror the contemporary government.
