| 内容記述 | The aim of the present paper is to consider Kosugi Misei's Jinchushihen (1904. 11): its position and its value as an anti-war work, within the history of modern Japanese literature of the Japanese-Russian war period. Jinchushihen is important as a literary record of the Japanese-Russian war and as a viewpoint on those days Korea. Nevertheless, it is only after the Second World War that it was discovered by literary scholars and was rightly praised. Even so, one can say that scope of the discussions surrounding Jinchushihen has been up to now rather limited, and that only parts of it have been accorded consideration. Therefore, in the introductory part of the paper, I make a short history of the research done on Jinchushihen until now. Then, I continue with the main part of the paper, dividing it in three small chapters. In the first one I look at the background of Jinchushihen's birth: the historical and social situation at the time as well as the author's experience as a war correspondent will be particularly focused. Concerning Kosugi Misei, the coexistence within him of two contradictory points of view, the One of correspondent to Senjigaho and the one of a writer reflecting on reality, will be highlighted. I make an analysis of the way the power relation between these two viewpoints has lead to the writing of Jinchushihen. The second chapter will follow closely, through an analysis of Jinchushihen and of other documents like Kosugi's anti-war drawings, the process through which his anti-war thinking grows deeper; it will also look at this process comparatively, trying to point to the way his wishes for peace and his poetry differ from the other anti-war works of the time. Last but not least, the final part will insist on the characteristic of Jinchushihen as a work that goes beyond the usual level of the anti-war literature of the time and reaches a deep understanding towards the other―Korea. I analyze the way Korea is described and I try to establish its importance by comparing it to the image of Korea in other works from the Japanese modern literature. |
