内容記述 | Though prayer of memorial service is a Buddhism ceremonious sentence, it can also be accepted as the lyric literature of mourning. Therefore, when thinking about the mourning for Lady Murasaki of the Tale of Genji, prayer of memorial service for ladies in Heian period gives various clues. On the other hand, judging from the view of Korean-Japanese comparative literature, prayer for deceased wives and deceased daughters in Korea attracts attention as the same literature of mourning for ladies, even though the eras are different. The prayer in Joseon Dynasty is the Chinese-style one which was developed along with family consciousness, fixing of funeral rites and religious festivals from around the 17th century in the circumstance of establishing paternal Confucianism family system. Many prayers were made until the last stage of the Dynasty. Especially, prayers for deceased wives and deceased daughters praise Confucian modelized and idealized women such as good wives, wise mothers, dutiful daughters, brave heroines. And the sorrowful thoughts of the bereaved are touching, therefore, they create universal sympathy. In this presentation, I would like to pay attention to prayer for deceased wives and deceased daughters in Korea as the attempt which interprets the episode of mourning for Lady Murasaki from relation with prayers of memorial service for ladies in Heian period. First, I examine the characteristics of those prayers in Heian period, making them concerned with those in Korea, focusing on the mourning and consolation for the deceased ladies and the bereaved family's expressions of sorrow. I check four prayers like ‘The prayer for the wife of Prince Nakastukasa’ from Honchô-monzui as the prayers for ladies in Heian period, and several from 17th and 18th century of Korea. I especially think over the quotation of Chôgon-ka and women’s desire for heaven in those prayers in Heian period. Then, I examine the quotation of Chôgon-ka in the mourning for Lady Murasaki, and verify the fact that the theme is quite literary and different from the prayers of memorial service. In addition, I would like to consider the idea and expressions of desire for heaven in the mourning for Lady Murasaki compared with that of the prayers of memorial service and with the logic of the consolation of the deceased in the Korean prayers. |
