| 内容記述 | 『蘐園蔵書目録』は荻生徂徠の私塾「蘐園」の蔵書目録である。従来は静嘉堂文庫所蔵のものだけが知られていたが、近年の調査によって平戸藩藩主だった松浦静山所蔵の『蘐園蔵書目録』の存在が明らかになった。奥付には静山の書込があり、この蔵書目録は天明六（一七八六）年の冬に書写されたものであること、持ち主は大和郡山藩藩主柳沢保光に仕えた儒者であり、荻生家三代目当主荻生鳳鳴だということが判明した。そこで本稿は静嘉堂文庫所蔵の『蘐園蔵書目録』（静嘉堂本）と松浦史料博物館所蔵の『蘐園蔵書目録』（平戸本）とを比較検討し、それぞれの特徴と成立年代、成立順に関する簡単な整理を行うことで、荻生家の蔵書変遷と荻生鳳鳴の動向の解明を目的とした。 検討した結果、静嘉堂本は少なくとも一七七一年以降の成立であり、平戸本は一七八六年以前の成立であることがわかった。また平戸本では徂徠の『弁名』『弁道』等の代表作が目録に加わったほか、徂徠の高弟たちの著作が新たに追加されていたことを明らかにした。この時期になってようやく彼らの著作を目録に加えようとした背景は現在のところ不明だが、二つの蔵書目録の合間、一七七六年に徂徠学を代表する学者が一年で計四人も没し、弱体化した「蘐園」を立て直そうとする意図があったのではないだろうか。今後はより詳細な蔵書分析と、同時代の徂徠学者の言説を明らかにしていくことが必要である。 The Ken’en zōsho mokuroku is an index of books belonging to the Ken’en Academy, a private school established by Ogyū Sorai. Previously, knowledge of Sorai’s book collection was limited to those works stored in the Seikadō Library. Recently, however, with the discovery of Ken’en zōsho mokuroku, once in possession of Matsura Seizan, former lord of the Hirado domain, we have gained a clearer understanding of the real extent of Sorai’s collection. A colophon in Ken’en zōsho mokuroku, containing writing by the hand of Seizan, tells us that the index was copied in the winter of 1786 (Tenmei 6), and that the owner of the original was a Confucian scholar by the name of Ogyū Hōmei, third head of the Ogyū family, and vassal of Yanagisawa Yasumitsu (1753-1817), who was then lord of the Kōriyama Domain in Yamato (Nara). By comparing two versions of Ken’en zōsho mokuroku, one belonging to the Seikadō Library, the other to the Matsura Historical Museum-known as the Seikadō Manuscript and the Hirado Manuscript, respectively-I hope to make clear, first, the salient features and relative compilation dates of each, and, second, the development of the Ogyū family library, with special emphasis on the efforts of Ogyū Hōmei. My research shows that the Seikadō Manuscript compiled no earlier than the year 1771, while the Hirado Manuscript was compiled before 1786. The Hirado Manuscript contains additional entries which the Seikadō lacks, such as representative works by Sorai as his Benmei and Bendō, as well as a number of further works by renowned disciples of Sorai. It is not clear what motivated Ogyū Hōmei to procure these extra works at this particular time. In the year 1776, a total of four of Sorai’s most representative pupils passed away. It is possible, therefore, that Ogyū Hōmei, worried that the tradition of Sorai’s Ken’en Academy might suffer extinction, thought it necessary to collect as many extra works on the subject as possible. In order to clarify this question, it will be necessary to conduct further research into the content of these indexes, as well as into the teachings of various Sorai scholars active during those years. |
