| 内容記述 | Oka Masao dealt with the incestuous union motif in the Izanaki-lzanami myth, exemplifying brother-sister incestuous union myths in many parts of Southeast Asia. Although criticized by many scholars, his supposition has been supported by Saigô Nobutsuna and Ôbayashi Taryô. This paper studies the meaning of the incestuous union myths in the Kojiki and supposes that the ancient Japanese people might have believed their parent's souls could revive in their children's bodies by means of the brother sister incestuous union. On the basis of the above supposition, this paper puts forward the hypotheses on the questions such as why Amaterasu is called "Kôsoshin (ancestor of the imperial family)" instead of her parents Izanaki and Izanami, why Takamimusubi suddenly appears with Amaterasu in the story of "Amaterasu's grandson descended from the heaven"，and why Ho-no-ninigi, Amaterasu's grandson, descended from the heaven instead of Oshi-ho-mimi, Amaterasu's son. Moreover, this paper points out the difference between the myths of Takamano-hara sequence and those of Izumo sequence from the viewpoint that the former have the sacred re-birth as a result of the incestuous unions, whereas the latter do not have. Lastly, this paper mentions the change of the ancient Japanese self identity from the concept of the body where the souls of their ancestor's revive to the concept of their own selves which live and die in this world. |
