| 内容記述 | 中村星湖「少年行」は『早稲田文学』『小説脚本懸賞募集』一等当選作として、一九○七〈明治40〉年五月に発表された。この「少年行」は、二葉亭四迷による選評「『少年行』に就て」が指摘しているように、「ローカル・カラー」を描いた小説として理解され、後半部で「人間」を描くことができずに失敗したとの評価が定着している。本稿では、この「ローカル・カラー」と「人間」という対立軸を一旦保留し、二葉亭が蛇足として評価しなかった後半部分の記述まで含めて、語り手の位相から分析しながら、「少年行」が持っているストーリーの類型を顕在化させた。それは国木田独歩の小説「少年の悲哀」「非凡なる凡人」「画の悲み」などから引用されたもので、その枠組みに、遺伝を根拠とするゾライズムの論理や、泉鏡花の怪異譚を連想させる夢のなかでの狂気の情景、あるいはやがて狂気となる青年からの書簡など、多様な文脈を収めようとしたために、小説結末部へ至るストーリーにおいて解釈されるべき文脈が拡散してしまうことを論じた。そして「少年行」以後に書かれた評論「小説月評」から、「少年行」に対する自己反省としての意味も持つ、星湖の小説の語り手に対する問題意識を見出し、その延長線上にある「薬局」「親」というふたつの短編小説から、「少年行」以後の中村星湖の位相を探ろうと試みた。 “Shonen-ko”（少年行） by Nakamura Seiko was published in May, 1907 as a work winning the first prize of the magazine “Waseda Bungaku”（早稲田文学）, “Shosetsu-kyakuhon-kensho-boshu”（小説脚本懸賞募集）. This “Shonen-ko” was understood as the novel on “A local colour”, so that Futabatei Shimei pointed it out in the selector’s comment “About Shonen-ko”. An evaluation that he failed to describe “A human” in the latter half of the novel was widely understood. In this article, I temporarily reserved the opponent “A local colour” and “A human” was temporarily reserved and the type of “Shonen-ko” was exposed while analyzing it from phase of the narrator included the description of the latter half which was not evaluated as unnecessary addition by Futabatei. That was quoted from novels “Shonen-no-hiai”(少年の悲哀), “Hibonnaru-bonjin”（非凡なる凡人）, “Enokanashimi”（画の悲み）by Kunikida Doppo. I discussed the context which should be interpreted in a story to reach the ending was scattered to try to gain a variety of them such as the logic of the Zolaism with the genetic bases, madness in the dream associated with Kaiitan by Izumi Kyoka or a letter from a young man becoming insane before long as a frame work. And from the critical essay “Shosetsugeppyo”（小説月評） written after “Shonen-ko” , it was possible to find the critical mind of Seiko for the narrator of the novel which also had the meaning as the introspection, tried to investigate the phase of Nakamura Seiko after “Shonen-ko” from the two short stories “Yakkyoku”（薬局）,”Oya”（親）which were on the extension line. |
