| 内容記述 | 元禄期の上方で、谷島主水、荻野沢之丞、袖岡政之助といった若女方の役者が当たりを取り、その評判に注目されて江戸へ招かれた。彼らは当たり芸をもって江戸へ下り、成功をおさめて人気を確立している。 上方出身の若女方に対する人気は高く、その効果は大芝居の舞台を離れたところにまで及んだ。谷島主水と荻野沢之丞は香具店を出し、タレントショップのような形で成功している。 さらに、藩邸の記録を視野に入れると、屋敷方の座敷芝居における上演活動が確認できる。元禄十年代に谷島主水、荻野沢之丞、袖岡政之助は相次いで大芝居から退くが、引退直後から藩邸で催される歌舞伎に出演していた。町奉行所の取り締まりによって、大芝居の人気役者を屋敷方に呼ぶことが難しくなっていた中で、芝居町を退いた彼らは、人気役者を見たいという大名家側の願望に応えうる貴重な存在だった。荻野沢之丞や袖岡政之助に関しては、座敷芝居でそれぞれの当たり芸「嫁鏡」、「薄雪」を演じていたことが確認でき、役者の当たり芸が屋敷方でも喜ばれていたことが見てとれる。 また、彼らを中心に据えた座敷芝居のグループを率いていた藤田長左衛門にも注目される。彼は役者であるが、芝居町では主に作者や口上云として舞台に関わっていた。芝居町と座敷芝居との関係の近さが窺われる。 There were famous kabuki players named Tanishima Mondo, Ogino Sawanojo and Sodeoka Masanosuke at the Genroku Period. They played young woman role named onnagata in the Kamigata area (Kyoto-Osaka). Those three onnagata went to Edo from Kamigata and gained popularity. Because each of them had an excellent skill in their performances. Tanishima Mondo and Ogino Sawanojo had cosmetic stores. That was as a well-known personality's shop. they succeeded in their shops because of their popularities. And also, they performed Kabuki at residences of feudal lords in Edo. Tanishima Mondo retired from the theater in 1697. He appeared immediately on the stage at the daimyo's residence. Ogino Sawanojo and Sodeoka Masanosuke performed their successful roles "Yomekagami" and "Usuyuki" at the residences of feudal lords as soon as they retired from the theater. The success in the theater district seemed to have influence in the outside world. This paper deals with onnagata at the Genroku Period in Edo from this point of view. |
