| 内容記述 | 本論文は、国文学研究資料館蔵「うつほ物語絵巻」全五巻の絵画表現について、住宅の表現を手がかりに、九州大学図書館蔵「うつほ物語絵巻」全五巻との比較検討を通して、その特質を抽出する。資料館本は、うつほ物語の冒頭の俊蔭を絵画化したもので、全二十八図からなる。源氏物語絵等と比較し、近世においてうつほ物語を絵巻化した作例は少なく貴重である。資料館本及び九州大学本の相違を以下のようにまとめる。第一に、画面構成について、九州大学本は統一された画面に固定的な視点を採るが、資料館本は横長の画面に時間と空間の流れを示した連続的な表現である。第二に、場面選択について、九州大学本は絵巻としての華やかさを重要視したのに対して、資料館本は、臨終の場面や困窮した暮らしの様子、女と若小君の感動的な再会を繰り返し描くなど、物語内容を説明的に描くことを重視している。第三に、住宅の表現について、九州大学本は比較的古式の上流住宅の表現に絞られるのに対し、資料館本は上流から庶民までの階層の住宅を描いており、また同時代の別荘建築で使用された近世的な数寄屋風書院造など、多様な住宅表現が選択されている。九州大学本は、絵画表現において、虚構としての王朝世界を保とうとしたのに対して、資料館本は、近世における新しい、また多様な建築的要素を反映することで、当時の人々が理解のしやすい王朝世界を具体化したといえる。 This study aims to clarify a characteristic of Tale of Utsuho scroll owned by National Institute of Japanese Literature (hereinafter NIJL scroll), which is composed of five volumes with 28 figures, by comparing with Tale of Utsuho scroll owned by Kyusyu University (hereinafter KU scroll) from the view point of how to draw a housing space. At first, the screen structure in NIJL scroll expressed temporal and spacious sequences in landscape-oriented screens. The screen structure in KU scroll was fixed in a standardize screen. Secondly, although the drawn scenes in NIJL scroll were emphasized to describe the contents of the story narratively, those in KU scroll accentuated gorgeous description as a picture scroll．Thirdly, houses for various classes and/or in various eras were drawn in NIJL scroll as expression of housing space. In KU scroll, relatively ancient and formal houses of upper classes were only expressed. As a result, the imperial court culture as a fiction was preserved in KU scroll. Contrary to it, an expression of NIJL scroll reflected new and various architectural elements in the Early Modern period to encourage sympathy of people at that time. |
