| 内容記述 | 筆者は、飛驒幕領において主要な生業であった林業の検討を通じて、その地域構造の特質解明を課題としている。従来、飛驒林業は、元伐（木材の伐り出し）を中心に論じられてきたが、木材の生産から輸送までを構造的に考えると、運材の研究が進んでいない点が問題として指摘できる。そこで、本稿では、御用木の運材による稼ぎ（＝川下稼）を行っていた村々を把握し、川下稼の実態を明らかにし、同稼が地域の生業としてどのような特徴をもち、いかに位置付くのか、考察を行った。 結果、寛政9年(1797)の元伐再開後の飛驒南方における元伐生産は、「元伐村々の救済事業」にのみその意義が見出されてきたが、本稿の検討により、川下げに携わる村々を多数確認することができ、元伐―連材という分業体制のもとで、川下稼村々にとっても元伐生産は地域における稼ぎの機会として重要な意味を持っていた。川下稼村々の運材への携わり方をふまえると、①高山役所の生業保護の意向のもとで、定式で運材を請け負う村々（益田湊二二か村)、②定式村々以外で運材に携わる村々、③元伐・川下両稼ぎを行っている村々という３つの類型が成り立つ。①の村々は、実態としては運材技術を持ちえない（｢素人日雇｣）が、役所から助成金を受け取り、②、③の村々は、運送請負人に川下日雇として雇用され、収入を得ていたのである。このような構造のもとに、飛騨御用木の運材はなされ、川下稼は、村々によって携わり方の程度に差はあるものの、地域の重要な生業として位置付いていたのであった。 This text clarifies the realities of the transportation of wood in the Shogunal territory at Hida. Motogiri-seisan (lumbering on behalf of the shogunate by local dealers) has been mainly discussed with forestry in Hida so far. However; it is necessary to research kawasagekasegi (working the lumber transportation) case to catch forestry in Hida. Therefore, kawasage-kasegi considered and the occupation in the region considered whether to assume or to have existed at the becoming it position. As a result of the examination, the existence of villages where the fate material had been undertaken from the Takayama Bailiff's Office became clear. And, because villager's transportation technology was low, the Merchant who had undertaken transportation organized, and was transporting an excellent engineer to the realities of lower part of a river Case. However, villages had received the subsidy in rights. A positional applying was an important occupation in the region of kawasagekasegi though there was a difference of how for involved by villages. |
