内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 (1) Japanese Literature and China
Prior to the cultural Revolution, Japanese proletariat writers such as Kobayashi Takiji and Miyamoto Yuriko received considerable attention and their complete works appeared in a flawless Chinese translation. Since the Cultural Revolution, China has become more open, and its view of Japanese literature has broadened as well. Interest in postwar literature has grown in particular, to such a degree that there was an audience for my translation of The History of Postwar Japanese Literature. The Shen Iang Publishing Company plans to put out an Outline of Japanese Literature, and in the south, the Series on Contemporary Japanese Literature, jointly planned by seven publishers, has come out. Ji Lin founded a journal called Japanese Literature. The "Japanese Literature Forum," which has brought together scholars from all over the country since 1979, has met in changchun, Jinan, Luo Iang and Guangdeung, creating increasing opportunities for research on Japanese literature.
(2) The Writings of Minakami and China
Minakami Tsutomu's works began to be introduced in earnest after the Cultural Revolution, appearing successively in translation, beginning with my own translation of "Koôrogi no Tsubo"("The Cricket Jar") . Two and three translations of the same work came out--for example," Echigo tsutsuishi oyashirazu "in both my translation and that of Hunan. Or, one translation was published several times in different formats (my translation of "Suisen" ["Narcissus"] appeared in a magazine, was included in the Anthology of Minakami Tsutomu and also in a bilingual Japanese/ Chinese reader.) I adapted "Kiri no kage"("The Shadow of Fog") and "Mimi"("Ears") as stories. "Bunna yo ki kara orite koi" ("Hey Bunna ! Come Down From the Tree !") and "Kiga Kaikyo" ("The Straits of Hunger") have been performed on the stage in China.
Perhaps Minakami's works have captivated Chinese readers so readily because he described the lives of people fighting off poverty with all their strength not as an outside observer but through his own experience of being poor and overcoming poverty. The brave heroines of "Echigo tsutsuishi oyashirazu" and "Suisen," who refuse to let their poverty destroy them but fervently devote themselves to their parents and husbands are a note of brightness amongst the darkness. Thus, their misfortune invites our tears all the more. By revealing the beauty of the heart created in the spiritual climate of Japan, Minakami's works go beyond national borders to gain many appreciative friends.
