| 内容記述 | 今日なお新聞で多数の読者が連載小説を読んでいるのは国際的にユニークな、日本人だけの習慣である。その発生に最も関係の深い東京絵入新聞の続きものを考察した。絵入雑報記事の発生、「岩田八十八のはなし」について定説の修正、「金之助のはなし」など創作の続きものの発生、作品名・回数・著者名の表示の形式が決定したのは古川魁蕾子の作品からであること、時代もの（歴史小説）の発生、等について述べた。 この続きものはやがて「小説」（ノベル）という自覚のもとに坪内逍遙によって読売新聞に定着せしめられるが、本稿はその前夜の様相を主として形態（絵入り続き物語）と江戸文芸からの流れに注目して調べたものである。 It is an unique custom only for Japanese internationally that a large number of readers still read serial novels in a newspaper. A serial story in Tokyo Eiri Newspapers which were most deeply concerned with the occurrence were considered. From the work by Furukawa Kairaishi, illustrated general news articles were shown, the theory of “Iwata Yasohachi no hanashi”（岩田八十八のはなし）was amended, a fictitious serial story such as “Kinnosuke no hanashi”（金之助のはなし）were shown, the title, the numbers, the author format were decided. The occurrence of historical novels were also mentioned. This serial stories are soon to be established with the self-awareness called “Novel” by Tsubouchi Shoyo in Yomiuri Shinbun. This article researches paying attention mainly to the phase of the eve, form (illustrated serial story) and the flow from the Edo literature. |
